Not every punishable offense in our Minecraft server rules can be explicitly listed. If something is not detailed here, that does NOT mean it is permissible! For any uncertainties or if you need clarification regarding online gaming conduct, please reach out to the staff to understand the server behavior guidelines.
RULES:
1 * Respect
The Otherside is meant to be a second home for everyone, fostering a community free from toxicity and drama. Therefore, all players are expected and encouraged to treat each other with the utmost kindness and respect, adhering to the established Minecraft server rules. Light-hearted jokes and playful banter are welcome, but disrespect, harassment, or the posting of any inappropriate content will not be tolerated. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy on harassment.
Any form of hate speech is not welcome, which includes but is not limited to hate towards: Racism, Religion, LGBTQ+, or any other group or identity. Attempts to cause harm, threats, or similar behavior, even if intended as a joke, will result in a permanent blacklist.
This server is not a space for discussing world events, religion, or politics. When in doubt, keep it out.
2 * Griefing
You may not destroy or modify any blocks, items, or structures within an area owned by another player without their permission (this is defined as /trust). We highly suggest claiming your areas and trusting only players you absolutely trust. Any claim griefing, including dropping un-stackable items in farms, lava-casting on a claim without permission, destruction of builds, or "Claim Blocking" (creating a new claim set to block another nearby claim from expanding) is not allowed, consistent with our server behavior guidelines.
NOTE: Any unclaimed area that is griefed, modified, or otherwise attacked (while the owner of this area has the capacity to claim it) will not be classified as claim griefing, and therefore there is nothing we can do about it. Make sure to claim your areas.
3 * Scamming
In-game scamming is allowed on this server, which includes scamming for items, money, or other in-game resources. However, IRL (In Real Life) scamming is NOT allowed; we enforce a zero-tolerance policy on IRL scamming. Engaging in actions to scam for real-world money or goods/services will lead to a permanent blacklist.
4 * Cheating and Unfair Advantages
Using hacked clients, X-ray mods, X-ray texture packs, bugs, glitches, exploits, or mods that give you an unfair advantage over other players or anything else considered hacking is strictly prohibited. If you're unsure whether a Client, Mod, or any other feature is against the rules, please message a moderator or the owner; they will be happy to assist you. (We are quite lenient on our mod policy.)
Resource packs that outline ores are allowed, as are shaders that cause ores to emit light. However, no resource pack, shader pack, or mod can be used to make ores visible through blocks, including packs that remove water and lava fog. This also encompasses resource packs that alter the shape or size of ores to reveal them when they would otherwise be hidden.
Fullbright and other cosmetic resource packs are permitted.
Every click, press, or hold of a button must be performed by the player. Using an auto-clicker, disconnecting your mouse, or employing any object to press or hold a button is prohibited. If we suspect a player of hacking, auto-clicking, or macroing, they will receive an in-game DM from staff that requires a response.
(Using F3+T is not allowed due to the difficulty in differentiating it from Auto-Clickers. We do this to prevent false bans. If caught using this and failing to respond to the in-game DM from staff, you will be considered "Macroing" and banned.)
Small list of Allowed Mods:
* Sodium, Lithium, and other performance mods.
* Render Distance Mods (Distant Horizons, etc.)
* Litematica/Reacharound (including Easy Place & Easy Place Hold Mode [both with vanilla reach on TRUE]; Printer add-on is not allowed)
* Just/Roughly enough items/item menu Mods
* MiniMap Mods including but not limited to Xaeros, JourneyMap, FTB, and more.
* Fullbright Mods/Dynamic Lighting
* Chest/Inventory Sorters
* Freecam
* Zooming mods
* Jade and other similar HUD mods
* If you have questions about a mod/resource pack, feel free to message the Owner.
5 * Exploits
An exploit is defined as the use of a bug, glitch, game system plugin, etc., by a player to gain an advantage in a manner not intended by the game’s designers.
Any form of exploit is prohibited. The staff team reserves the right to determine what constitutes an exploit at any time. If you're unsure if something is an exploit, always feel free to ask.
Duplicating items that are not in the "exceptions" part of this rules section is strictly disallowed and will lead to an immediate permanent ban.
EXCEPTIONS:
* TNT duplication, to be used in perimeters or for tree farms, etc.
* Duplicating Carpets, Rails, and Tripwire Hooks.
6 * Farm Guidelines
Our staff team works hard to maintain a lag-free server environment.
While our server isn’t strict on its farm policy, we allow a flexible view distance compared to other similar servers, ensuring that your Minecraft experience remains enjoyable. If a farm is deemed too impactful for the server, we may request adjustments or, in some cases, removal of said farm. Any removal will be done only after attempting to contact the farm's owner first.
Farms are generally considered high-impact if:
* The total number of hoppers, furnaces, droppers, and dispensers exceeds 200 (combined).
* Farms that result in excessive block updates (such as pistons pushing blocks).
^ Examples include moss farms, flower farms, and cobblestone farms.
* The total number of vehicle entities exceeds 36 (minecarts, boats).
* The number of animals and mobs exceeds 24.
* Usage of repeating redstone clocks.
* Presence of nether portals inside a farm.
Please optimize your creations properly. This includes locking hoppers using composters, utilizing ice and water to transfer items where possible, and ensuring excessive item or entity stacking does not occur in one location.
Our server is designed to support large redstone and farming tech creations, and we strive to keep the server lag-free and the fun levels high. However, repeated creations of high-impact farms or lag machines will result in punishment after multiple warnings and/or removals.
8 * Chance-based Games/Casinos
Casinos and chance-based games are allowed on our server, provided you publicize the odds of the games to all users. Under no circumstances should you wager or gamble real-life money; you may only gamble physical crate keys or cosmetic vouchers that already exist.
9 * Advertising
The Otherside is not a platform for advertising without permission. This includes, but is not limited to, Discord servers, other servers and their IPs, social media accounts, and more. Anyone found to be advertising will receive a permanent ban.
10 * Discord Rules
Our server rules apply to Discord as well. If you think you might face punishment for saying/sending something, refrain from doing so.
Additionally, our staff has the final say. (We cannot specify every conceivable rule, so in case of doubt, follow the staff’s guidance. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!)
If you believe you have been unfairly banned from our server, you can appeal on our Discord Server by opening a ticket. You can also report players through Discord using the same method.
For any further questions, need clarification, or if you encounter situations not covered by our server behavior guidelines, please message a staff member or the owner; they will gladly assist you.
(Note: Developers are not considered moderation staff; they may not be able to provide help.)
